This is the "overflow" history of grants made by Skyview PTSA to Skyview Middle School!

2023 FALL GIFT TO SCHOOL GRANTS: 

Skyview PTSA donated $3060 in Gift to School grants this Fall!
See what projects the money was granted for below. 

  • Tie breaker buzzers to be used to simulate a real world "Math-is-cool" competition during Math Club
  • Four cozy waiting room chairs in the library for kids looking for a calm and quiet place to read, study, or think.
  • Several different books and scripts (some from Amazon.com and others from TeachersPayTeachers) to support history lessons across all grades.
  • Rental of "Becoming the US" history exhibit from the Gilder Lehrman collection.
  • 3D Pedometers for walking elective class.
  • Class subscription to the Scholastic magazine in Spanish, Que Tal, which uses Spanish 1 level vocabulary to talk about current issues and the culture in Spanish speaking countries. Shared with every class.
  • Material supporting a cooking group in the FSA classroom benefitting student - many with special needs.
  • 10 Noise-cancelling headphones for special Ed classroom and Crazy putty for sensory and emotional regulation.
  • Sensory toys, Craft projects, Books and Puzzles for FSA students

We were thrilled to be able to fund almost every request we received, due to the generous donations of our PTSA members! Thank you for helping all Skyview kids and thank you again to everyone who has donated to our "Pass the Hat" fundraiser this year!


2023 SPRING GIFT TO SCHOOL GRANTS: 

Skyview PTSA donated $2400 in Gift to School grants this spring!
See what projects the money was granted for below. 

  • Classroom hooks and number cards
  • Magnetic coordinate planes for graphing practice
  • Ice machine for the health room - did you know the health room goes through 5-15 bags of ice a day!!
  • LEGO space shuttle to teach scale factors and the practice of using models during astronomy lessons in science
  • Whiteboard pages for math classes
  • Tracers for history classes
  • Classroom whiteboards and supplies
  • Fraction pattern tiles and two-color counters for integer operation and function rules in math
  • Lower-level Spanish books for beginning Spanish readers


We were thrilled to be able to fund every request we received, due to the generous donations of our PTSA members! Thank you for helping all Skyview kids and thank you again to everyone who has donated to our "Pass the Hat" fundraiser this year!

  • Square Dancing Partial Funding for PE
  • Plants for our outdoor science space


We are thrilled that we are able to support all kids' school & education experience.

Skyview PTSA Gives Back!

The Skyview PTSA has generously provided the following “Gifts to School” grants:

  • Health and Safety – 35 Stop the Bleed Kits – Reaches all students

  • P.E. – Square Dancing – Reaches all students

2020 FALL GIFT TO SCHOOL GRANTS: 

 

Skyview PTSA was able to donate blue light glasses to any Skyview teacher or staff members who needed them for remote learning.

  • HUGE appreciation to everyone who made a donation. Your support helps our PTSA to give back to the school and directly impact students!

 


2019 SPRING GIFT TO SCHOOL GRANTS:

  • Thank you to all who donated to PTSA's Pass the Hat during the SMS Open House Night on January 30th!
  • Donations totaled to $1471! Your generosity helped fund many items for the second half of the school year!

2018 FALL GIFT TO SCHOOL GRANTS:

  • HUGE appreciation to each of you who made a contribution!  Your support is vital to be able to give back into the school and directly impact students!


2017 - 2018 PASS THE HAT

A HUGE thank you to all who donated through PTSA's 2017 - 2018 "Pass the Hat" fundraiser! It is the ONE and ONLY fundraiser for the ENTIRE year!

We do not sell anything or ask the students & families of Skyview to sell anything! Nor do we receive money from the school's annual magazine drive.

It is through the generosity of this community that the PTSA is able to sponsor events, activities, and grants that reach the students at Skyview MS.

EVENTS & ACTIVITIES

  • Eagle Day Fun: such as henna tattoos, airbrush tattoos, a magician, face painting and co-sponsored the photo booth with ASB.
  • Staff Appreciation Events
  • "Screenagers" - parent education movie
  • 8th Grade Party Contribution - to keep the cost down for families
  • Reflections Art Contest - open to all students (more info here)
