PTSA Nominating Committee - 3/5/2026 Letter

We are asking for YOUR help.

At the end of this school year, our Skyview PTSA is at risk for dissolving since we are short on key volunteers. In order for our PTSA to continue in its 501c(3) non-profit status, we need to have a President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Our Nominating Committee is still looking for volunteers to fill these required roles. Click here to see detailed descriptions of these positions for Skyview PTSA.

What is the Nominating Committee?

Our Nominating Committee is a group of three volunteers who are tasked with finding executive board candidates for next year! They are looking for people who may be interested OR suggestions of individuals who might be a great fit on the board. Talking to the Nominating Committee is NOT a commitment - it's a conversation! The deadline for the Nominating Committee to determine the slate of candidates for next year's board is Thursday, March 19.

Documentation, Training & Support!

The good news is that there are SO many tools available to volunteers, including an extensive Google Drive full of checklists, how-to documents, previous publications, and more. The current volunteers will work with the new volunteers on the transition and will remain available for any questions.

Why Does this Matter??

Please consider filling a much-needed Board position -or- sharing names of good potential candidates, so students, families, and staff at Skyview will continue to have the opportunity to participate in things like the Reflections Art Competition, Spelling Bee, Community Night, 8th Grade Party, and Eagle Day. In addition, many of our community members rely on our Food Pantry, and our Emergency Prep program helps to keep all Skyview students safe while at school. Every student benefits from SBA snacks, the staff members look forward to Staff Appreciation events, and the PTSA has generously funded grants for classroom needs.

Did you know? Skyview PTSA has been a staple in the community since 1992!!

Over the past 34 years, Skyview PTSA has been led solely by volunteers, and has had the mission of being a strong advocate for the well-being and education of every student and a relevant resource for Skyview families and community.

Our Request of YOU...Help Us KEEP Skyview PTSA Going for 2026-27!

Please think about everyone you know --

• Do you know any current 5th grade elementary parents (will be joining Skyview community next year)? What about current 6th & 7th grade Skyview parents?
• Consider those who might be great leaders, strong communicators, detail oriented with financials?
• Sharing names of friends and acquaintances is NOT committing them to anything except maybe a chat. It does show how highly you think of them - that they would be a positive addition to an organization that supports students!
