FALL 2023 GIFT TO SCHOOL GRANTS: 

Skyview PTSA donated $3060 in Gift to School grants this Fall!
See what projects the money was granted for below. 

  • Tie breaker buzzers to be used to simulate a real world "Math-is-cool" competition during Math Club
  • Four cozy waiting room chairs in the library for kids looking for a calm and quiet place to read, study, or think.
  • Several different books and scripts (some from Amazon.com and others from TeachersPayTeachers) to support history lessons across all grades.
  • Rental of "Becoming the US" history exhibit from the Gilder Lehrman collection.
  • 3D Pedometers for walking elective class.
  • Class subscription to the Scholastic magazine in Spanish, Que Tal, which uses Spanish 1 level vocabulary to talk about current issues and the culture in Spanish speaking countries. Shared with every class.
  • Material supporting a cooking group in the FSA classroom benefitting student - many with special needs.
  • 10 Noise-cancelling headphones for special Ed classroom and Crazy putty for sensory and emotional regulation.
  • Sensory toys, Craft projects, Books and Puzzles for FSA students


SPRING 2024 GIFT TO SCHOOL GRANTS:

Skyview PTSA donated $7650 in Gift to School grants this Spring!
See what projects the money was granted for below. 

  • Renting a Burke Box from the Burke Museum in Seattle for a week in September 2024. The Burke Box contains museum-quality collection pieces, lesson plans, and resources related to archaeology, supporting classroom curriculum in ancient/medieval history for 6th graders.
  •  Blackout shades for all teachers in the T, A, and C buildings to ensure proper window coverings in case of emergencies.
  • 17 more pairs of headphones to replace stolen or damaged ones, ensuring functioning headphones with a microphone for WIDA testing.
  • Supplemental Materials for English from Teachers Pay Teachers to differentiate instruction for students below grade level in the English department.
  • Additional folding geometric shapes for Pre-Alg classrooms to aid in visualizing and calculating surface area and volume of 3D shapes.
  • Wipe book paper whiteboards for Math 6 students to facilitate collaboration and demonstrate thinking during math lessons.
  • Lunchtime equipment including tether balls, volleyballs, soccer balls, basketballs, frisbees, and footballs for lunchtime supervisors.
  • Hand boilers and digital thermometers for weather unit demonstrations and experiments in 6th-grade science classes.
  • Funding snacks and non-food-related rewards for students participating in a positive behavior program involving cleaning the cafeteria after lunch.
  • 10 TI-30XA calculators to replace non-functional ones and support students in complex computations.
  • Highlighters, glowsticks, and other glow-in-the-dark materials for a "glow party" to reinforce critical concepts in Pre-Alg 1/2, such as solving equations.
  • Class set of "New Kid" by Jerry Craft to support struggling readers and provide diverse literature options for 6th-grade English classes.
  • 100 durable headphones for SBAC testing to ensure students have proper equipment for testing.
  • Cork board for displaying maps around the world in the library.
