Comments from Nominators/Presenters:

  • "It is my honor to present this award to you, Jennifer, for your continued commitment to the students and families of the Skyview community. You not only take on the HUGE role as school nurse to over 1,200 middle schoolers, you also are a member and leader of the SMS racial and educational justice team, lead the advocacy for every classroom to have Stop the Bleed kits and training, continually find resources for families such as food, utilities and clothing, delivered Thanksgiving Meals to families all while tirelessly navigating COVID protocols and guiding us through this pandemic as a school community."
  • "She is so nice, she has gone out of her way to help me and my family, she is an angel to us and always helps others first." (Student comment)
  • "We could not have survived the last few years without her. She works harder than anyone I know but always with grace and humor." (Staff comment)

We truly thank you for your service to children of Skyview and the greater community. Congratulations!

Outstanding Educator: Tanya Subcleff

Comments from Nominators/Presenters:

  • "It is my honor to present you with an Outstanding Educator Award. The Outstanding Educator Award is presented to an individual who has made significant contributions in their community to enhance the educational outcomes of all children or youth. An educator is not limited to a teacher and may be defined as a teacher, assistant, specialist, support staff, administrator or community member. Congratulations for earning this Outstanding Educator Award for being an amazing educator at Skyview."
  • "Ms. Subcleff always goes so in depth when she teaches, she is kind and very accepting. When anyone has a problem or question she takes time to listen them and help them follow through. She also makes learning fun and includes everyone. Mrs. Subcleff is an outstanding teacher!"
  • "Subcleff is so sweet and patient, and always super understanding of everything-- she's like a teacher + a counselor, and Skyview is lucky to have such a sweet teacher."
  • "Tanya has gone above and beyond this year to support her students and colleagues. She has a heart for students and implemented led the 6th grade team in welcoming students back and supporting their social and emotional development after (during) 2 years of pandemic learning. She is an innovative teacher and always working hard to ensure her students have engaging, relevant material. She also volunteered this year as part of the WEA to support and mentor educators of color new to the profession, in addition to pursuing her National Board Certification. She really balances it all and somehow makes it look effortless. She is an essential asset to the Skyview Middle School Community."
  • "She makes learning fun, includes us all and is kind and helpful always."

Outstanding Educator: Jeremiah Campbell

Comments from Nominators/Presenters:

  • "We had over 250 nominations and Mr. Campbell, by far has the most nominations. Actually, more than I have ever seen in my time serving PTSA. It is my honor to present you with an Outstanding Educator Award.
  • As difficult as his class is he makes it fun and encourages you to work as hard as you can. He is always determined to help you learn Spanish no matter how hard it is for you. He puts a bright light on the school and makes his class interesting and is the best teacher I ever had and makes me excited to go to his class.
  • Campell is a great teacher, you can see he loves to teach and love his students, and he really helped learning Spanish.
  • He has a great way of connecting to every student and makes class fun.
  • He makes a big difference and really cares about students and shows us different learning ways.
  • He includes all students and make class fun.
  • Mr. Campbell has been a light in the year of darkness for my student. My student always felt welcome and appreciated in this classroom for who they are as person.

Golden Acorn: Bushra Yassir

Comments from Nominators/Presenters:

  • "Today it is my honor to award Bushra Yassir the Golden Acorn Award which is presented to an outstanding PTSA volunteer dedicated to serving all children at Skyview and goes above and beyond a job description. Bushra you have quietly served this community as PTSA Vice President of Membership the last two years. But your service goes beyond earning us membership awards like 100% staff, Platinum growth awards, and Skyview having the most PTSA members in ALL of Northshore. I mean we kept members even during the virtual year, that was NO easy task. You serve on committees when needed, have been delivering food to families with our food pantry for the last two years, packed Thanksgiving meal boxes, and you have been serving in the Skyview lunchroom every week. You lead with grace; kindness and you never expect even a thank you, which is the sign of a TRUE community servant. I am thanking you today, from the PTSA and all of the SMS community. We appreciate you."

  • "Mrs. Yassir is amazing. She is always trying to help the school become a better place. She always puts in her effort, and she even helps deliver food to families who cannot afford food. Every Wednesday and Friday she comes to volunteer in the cafeteria. She helps people and tells them what they should be doing. She always puts the students at Skyview first before anything else. She is truly amazing!"
  • "My daughter always tells me how sweet and understanding Bushra is to students and how hard working she can be in a nice way."
  • "She is always friendly to us students and helps us in a kind way if we make a mistake."
  • "Congratulations Bushra for winning this years Skyview PTSA’s Golden Acorn Award."
