Q. What is the 8th Grade Party?

A. This party is a celebration of the end of the middle school years. It is a traditional send-off for students as they prepare to go on to high school.

Q. Who attends the event?

A. The event is for Skyview 8th graders ONLY. This is meant to be a memorable finale to your student’s years at Skyview. This is a singles group event – dates are not needed. Also, only parents/guardians who are volunteering will be allowed at the actual event and must have completed the NSD level 1 background to be approved. NSD Become a Volunteer.

Q. How much does the event cost + how do I purchase a ticket?

A. Tickets are priced as follows and can be purchased here:

  • Now-April 30: $50
  • May 1-20, 2024: $60
  • The last day to purchase tickets for the party is May 20
  • Full and partial scholarships are available by contacting skyview8thgrade@gmail.com

Q. How do we sign up?

A. Register online and purchase ticket, here (or request scholarship). A confirmation email will be sent when payment has been received. Permission forms are required to attend the event. Physical tickets are not required. A list of paid admissions will be kept at check in.  Both permission slip and payment are required to attend.

Q. What does the price of the ticket include?

A. A great time, buffet food, dessert, dancing, and entertainment.

Q. Can I purchase tickets at the door?

A. No. Because we require signed waivers to attend the event, and the venue requires advance notice to plan for food, we are unable to offer ticket sales at the door. Deadline to sign the waiver and purchase tickets is Monday, May 20th, 2024.

Q. What will there be to do at this party?

A. There will be a several food stations followed by music, dancing, entertainment, photo booth opportunities, and games

Q. What do students wear to this party?

A. Kids are invited to wear what makes them feel their best! This is also the first time for many kids to pick out a special dress or their first collared shirt. Go for it! Some kids may feel more comfortable selecting a nice outfit from their closet - and that's fine too. Just remember that this is a special night and should feel that way.

Q. What do I bring to the party? Do I need to bring money?

A. Money is not necessary as there will be nothing available for purchase. Large bags and backpacks are not permitted. Small purses/bags and cell phones are permitted.

Q. How do students get to and from the party?

A. Students will need to arrange their own transportation to and from the venue. Drop-off starts at 6:30pm. Students will be checked in by Skyview PTSA volunteers. Students will be released promptly at 9:30pm. Be sure to make arrangements to meet your student. Adult volunteers/chaperones will be on hand to help assist students. We highly encourage carpooling.

Q. Do we get to walk around the grounds at McMenamins Anderson School or leave the property?

A. The party will be happening in Haynes Hall and the outdoor space immediately adjacent, at McMenamins. Students are not allowed to leave those areas and will remain on site for the duration of the party.
