Skyview PTSA is in need of a VP-Communications - this role can be filled by one person, but co-chairs is a great idea (see idea below for co-chair work split)! The VP-Communications can also recruit committee chairs to help with different parts (social media, website, newsletter), as long as the VP-Communications is overseeing, review/approve of all content posted or shared (any such plan must be approved by President) - since they are ultimately responsible for what is shared.
VP-Comm Co Chair: Website Focus
Seeking someone who would be interested in keeping our website updated as a resource to our community. Additionally, this person will have opportunities to use Canva to create designs for all communication channels, take turns creating the newsletter, assist with social media posts when needed, and more! Also, meet on a monthly basis with other PTSA leadership and the Skyview Principal.
VP-Comm Co Chair: Social Media Focus
Seeking someone who enjoys social media and can keep our community informed via those platforms, ideally someone who is active and aware of current social media platforms and can help our PTSA reach more families. Additionally, this person will have opportunities to use Canva to create designs for all communication channels, take turns creating the newsletter, learn our website platform, and more!
At this point in the year, if we find a great candidate (or co candidates) for VP-Communications, the current executive board would APPOINT the person(s) to the board as "interim" and they can start learning the role immediately and officially start on July 1 (or when they are appointed, if after 7/1/2025). At the first Skyview PTSA General Membership Meeting of the school year, in October 2025, an election would be held for the general membership to officially fill the position.
